Jessica McFarland
Board of Directors


Jessica has a degree in Recreation Management from Brigham Young University. Her greatest passion has always been connecting with people around her, and she does it well.
Through her school work she has refined her skills in communications, business management, public relations and organizational behavior.
She is currently working at Legacy Village as their Recreation Director.

Kathy McFarland
Founder and President


Kathy was inspired by her husband's experiences in Nepal when he filmed 'Highway to Dhampus', and founded Mind the Gap Worldwide in 2014.  She is co-founder of Fiftyfilms, a film production company in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition to running the company, Kathy was Chief Accounting Officer for the feature film 'My Girlfriend's Boyfriend' and for 'Highway to Dhampus'. 
She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and is currently working towards certification from the University of Utah Non-Profit Academy.  She adores her 5 children.

Lisa Reese
Board of Directors


Lisa graduated in Marriage, Family and Human Development from Brigham Young University and received her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Utah. She has taught, trained, and led people in various capacities and organizations.
Lisa has served in small and large assignments both within the United States and other countries. She is the mother of four children.

Advisor

Jessica Braithwaite has a deep compassion for humanity and has made humanitarian efforts a priority in her life.  As the former Executive Vice President of Sunshine Heroes Foundation, she has enjoyed the pursuit of making a difference in the world by traveling to foreign countries to oversee and document humanitarian projects, traveling the world to conventions as a fundraising speaker, motivational speaker, organizing humanitarian projects and events, community outreach, researching and presenting grant opportunities, and coordinating and training volunteers. 

Ariana Duke
Social Media

 

Ariana graduated in Horticulture Management from Brigham Young University. She has always felt an interest in helping people and making the world a better place through humanitarian work. Ariana has enjoyed connecting with people online since before the internet was widely available. Now she loves using the power of social media to promote our message and raise awareness of global humanitarian needs. She and her husband have two wonderful children.

Chandra Adhikari

Nepal Program Director


Chandra Adhikari, one of the founders of People's Development Foundation was born and raised in a village in the Lamjung District of Nepal. He knows first-hand the struggles the Nepali people face. He works diligently to foster self-reliance through developing people's ability to seek change. He has worked with Choice Humanitarian, The LDS Church, and other LDS Charities.

Mind the Gap Worldwide (MGW) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded to alert everyone to the good that can be done to help bridge the gap for people living without basic necessities.  MGW focuses on projects that help people secure six things: clean water, food, clothing, and shelter, as well as access to education, and health care.
